His question wasn't, "What should I use?" His question, though not clearly stated, aside from being a "gimme code" question, was on the order of, "How can I make this work?"

ASK is a commonly used, widely popular modulation. For low data rates such as these low-cost modules support, this should work fine.

Telling him to make something else work doesn't help!
