some time we have to invest on such things.but we cannot spend $50 for small applications like remote controll. Exactly - you are going to have to invest a lot of development effort in order to reduce your production costs! As I kind of suggested in http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=137452 perhaps you could buy a few of the $50 (or whatever) units from an "expensive" but helpful supplier, and use them in your development. Once you have gained the necessary experience with that, you will know how to use the cheap one in your actual products. Or, as Richard kind of suggested in http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=137492 if you can convince the Taiwanese that you are a bona-fide high-volume customer, they might give you some help... in the market there are peolpe who works with cheap modules and they are succeded in making such cheap systems. They have the "know-how" - and, probably, the volumes. See Erik's post about "know-how": http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=137038 so to survive, we also have to do the r&d and findout some solutions. That's the trouble with "me-too" products - if your product can't compete by some outstanding feature or other advantage, you're stuck with just competing on price. :-( Take a look through this whole thread: http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=136113 |
