#140057 - PLCs Responding to: ???'s previous message |
PLCs are much simpler to program compared to writing in assembler etc. As Erik says, the small PLCs are cheap. I haven't tried the Keyence ones, but there is the LOGO from Siemens, Twido from Schneider and these are < $300USD. The Twidos can have two serial ports, where the LOGO has none(I think). They all come packaged and some with a built in power supply. All you need to do is get a polycarb enclosure, some din rail and some terminals. Some programming and some wiring - industrial strength solution.
Do some research. You'll have a working, robust solution using a PLC much faster than trying to cobble something up yourself. At the minumum, using a PLC you can show a working concept quickly to give everyone a warm, fuzzy feeling. |
