Many 8-bit microcontrollers are available with a built-in USB device (or "slave") function - it's the USB host that is the difficult one!

Now with the USB issue explained then there is the issue of file system compatibility.

I beleive that FTDI provide firmware for the Vinculum that includes handling the FAT file system?
