Actual requirement:

access the database file from external flash memory to microcontroller without PC & this data display on LCD display.

file type = .dbf or excel

i have options as,

flash memory = pen drive or memory card reader
port = USB
controller = 8052/pic uC or ARM processor

please suggest what is actual way & what requires like ics, device drivers, file transfer protocol etc.

i want to know how to access file from ext. flash memory card to microcontroller.
