Responding to: ???'s previous message
1) is the crystal and the burden caps connected with less than 0.5" traces?
Please tell me what is this 0.5''traces.(Sorry)

2) is there a 10-100 nF cap DIRECTLY between vcc and gnd pins?
I think this you are saying to avoid any transients.I have
connected 1uf capacitor for that.

3) is Vcc the specified value all the time (use scope)
Vcc is specified ( i will check with oscilloscope also) as i am using a voltage control regulator(LM7805).
I am making a stand alone programmer so programmer is disconnected from the main circuit.

I am making this circuit on a breadboard . Can it be a cause of problem?Secondly i have read in Mazidi's book that 8051 has a internal oscillator but you need an external clock to run it.
So can i dump my code without connecting the oscillator and use an oscillator when i am using the microcontroller in a circuit?
