Not really: I'm talking about the concept of a display - any display - in general.

So, in general, one would not need to assume that anything generically described as a "display" would have to be readable.

perhaps you could come up with one?

Well, "Read Display = Yes" seems to be in the minority on this page: http://www.noritake-itron.com/SubPages/...onlist.htm and nearly half list only "Write" under "Bus Direction"...
