It seems the 8052.com search IS having an impact on the server load.

I'm running things for a full week (starting three days ago on Monday) to compare server load to the previous week that mostly had the search enabled.

At that point I'll try to make a decision as to what to do. There will be two possibilities:

1. If I find no problem, I'll simply re-enable the search.
2. If I find a problem, I don't have the time to fix it right now. In that case, I'd temporarily make all searches submit automatically to Google with results limited to 8052.com. This isn't ideal, of course, but better than the *nothing* that we have right now. Then, hopefully soon, I would optimize the search process. And while I'm at it I'd also make it more useful in terms of producing better results.

I'll keep you all posted.
