Isn't that why folks use HLL's? That sacrifice is a given with HLL's, isn't it?
nope, it is an old vifes tale that there is no way to write (in)efficient code with a HLL. just as an example compare a table lookup to a "linearization function". Yes, if things are ultra-critical no HLL will cut the mustard, but with a modern efficient (not "bargain basement") compiler the "ultra" is a fact. Erik |
