In reply to your last comment you are of course right, it was a mistake to leave them uncommented;)
I've spent literally hours today going back over the hardware and software and am really stuck, I've tried so many variants to try and get some text on the lcd but am unable to see where the problem is located. Code can be found below; http://www.ukvsmurfy.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/LCD%20TES...EDULER.txt The led i added which works on the timer interrupt doesn't work while the lcd is plugged in, which to me suggests its a problem setting up the lcd. The 8051 I'm using is the Atmel AT89S8253 And LCD module is based on a Samsung KS00066 which according to the lcd manufacture ALL SHORE is equivalent to the Hitachi HD44780 Data sheets for the controller and LCD can be found below. http://www.allshore.com/pdf/ASI_402ASLK_YSW.pdf http://www.allshore.com/pdf/Samsu...a0069).pdf Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm at a loss here. |
