Hi Bruce, It's required on any number starting with an alpha character - for Hex that would be A, B, C, D, E or F. As I understand it. it's to allow the assembler to differentiate between a number (which always starts with a numeric character - 0 to 9) and a label (which always starts with an alpha character). I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong! |
