AD0 to AD7 will be connected to Port 3 of the MCU. Control pins AS, R/!W, DS, !CS, will be connected to spare port pins in P1 port.

This chip is beauty.Dear Raghunathan I hope you appreciate that DS12c887 needs only a 40 pinnner 8051 ONLY...no 138 for I kept it always selected.. no 373/573, and there you are.So I connect '887 and LCD to pulled up P0.LCD is not memory mapped,unlike the EFY project.If needed I can post the working circuit.
