Since the sun is out 11 months of the year in that area I found it better to have 2 levels of brightness, one for the day with maximum brightness and another for the night to make it comfortable to the eyes
I would not consider that good enough I run 16 intensity levels and (fortunately only) one customer has asked for a finer granulation.
