I remember, when I went to the UK (York) in January, and the taxi driver told me that they had an unprecedented rough Christmas - the temperature went down to -4°C, and they had snow lasting for a couple of days! It was -15°C those days during daytime in that part of Slovakia where I lived then (southern part of the country, but with particular local weather due to surrounding hills), as is quite usual in that time of year; and about 20-30cm of snow. On the other hand, we here don't wear short sleeved shirts when the temperature outside is below 20°C, a normal English summer... ;-) JW |
