Yes, that is a very common experience!

Just taking the care to go through the problem methodically and describe it in detail will often reveal the answer in the process!

This is why I frequently recommend that posters here should just go through the (uncommented) code that they post, and comment it - that will often also have the effect of revealing the problem(s) in the process!
