#28118 - RE: This is gonna be a tough one, |
Hi Steve
Your professional opinion is highly appreciated. for a shooting range, its either pistols or M16, which is not a very high caliber. I will have 2 ranges, 25m and 50m. Resolution will be the least that gives me good results and speed experimentaly. Target size should be no problem, customers should have some idea what they need or I can measure existing old targets dimension. Muzzle velocity depends on gun/ammunitions used its not big deal as long as i have suitable delay till a capture target picture. My strategy will be do the system, test it and tune/modify till customer completely satisfied. I think this project envolves more software than hardware, may be it will be good idea for me to hire a software guy to help me to speed things up. Keith: I think there is still room for 8052 in this project because i need to design graphics(text) overlay to display on top of vedio image from ccd camera. Has anyone anyone used text overlay in a project before? I have no choice but to use Pentium IV to make my system cost effective and shorten development time. This is gonna be a tough one Life is tough keith but I was offered a project for a taylor that was much worse than this one and I simply had no clue how to do it, so I rejected it after thinking about it for a month or so. Maybe will discuss it in another thread. regards Mahmood |
