This is why I started the Wierd Technology thread (only 1 reply but lots of reads - maybe you all said "huh! crazy old man"), but only Jay & I seem to be old enough to know wierd stuff! Maybe we have to wait another 20 years, as you said!

Back on topic, I've also done a lot of automatic test equipment (interfacing & programming) for industrial computer products, mostly in 8088 assembler but some in C.

PS How many of you have ever edited 1 byte on a paper tape?
