#3373 - RE: What everbody has done ??? |
Replying to Peter,
You see the words "texte français sur demande, nederlands tekst op aanvraag" on lots of documents here in Belgium, which is a tri-lingual state. It just means that, if you are Dutch(French)-speaking, you can ask for the Dutch(French) version. Back to the old stuff! I worked for Marconi (the company, not the man himself!) back in the 70s. The test equipment computer was based on a 24-bit Marconi Myriad radar computer, with a Teletype console & Facit 1000 ch/sec paper tape reader. ALL the software was on paper tape. As there was a speaker attached to an internal bus line, you could tell what program was running from the noise it made. Of course, some guy came up with a music compiler (4 voices - great for Bach!). We ran the carols tapes at Christmas; the theme from Exodus was a favorite, because it ran for 5 minutes (4" diameter roll of tape). There was a Coral66 compiler as well. Regards, Richard Babar predicted this would be a mega-thread! What can we do for an encore? |
