I am starting the design of an inverted pendulum buggy as a college project. This will hopefully balance a pole in an upright position with little or no friction on the hinge/fixed point.It will use the acceleration force of the buggy to counter falling in either direction and it will have one degree of freedom initially. I need an accurate and fast angle measurement sensor for this inherently unstable system in order to keep it balanced. Any thoughts/help/comments would be appreciated.
