I think you should scrap the idea of using the TUSBXXXX , get a bog standard 8051 with a bit of flash..

Then download the Bible ,or better yet ,get the Philips IC20 databook (where the bible came from)..and read it...

Once you have a basic understanding of the 8051 , you can then argue your point from a position of knowledge...

And what can you not divide 12000000 by ?....
