STM claims a data retention of 20 years and a minimum of 100,000 write/erase cycles for their FLASH memories. So if one is reprogrammed every 10 years, it would take 1 million years to wear out. That's close enough to "forever" given the fact that Pan Narans (the storytelling ape, which is what we are) has been around for only 150,000 years or so :o) Rob. |
