#45610 - RE: MCU wear out - Thanks Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello all,
That was interesting - particularly the problem about MCU's being exposed to radiation and ESD. And my primary doubt about the wear out of a particular section of the MCU running repeated code is laid to rest. Like the Perpetual Motion machine, man's effort to produce something that is infalliable is a pipe dream. Maybe the efforts are tending towards the "0%" failure line but I think that the curve is asymptotic - it will never reach there. In the meanwhile it is all smart word play by marketing gurus. A Maternity Clinic has a very high success rate of 99.9% in handling child births. When handling 1000 cases this means that there is a possiblity of 1 child dying at birth. But for the mother of THAT one child, it is 100% failure - nothing less. Raghu |
