as I remember from the datasheets (or somewhere else) is that you can only safely measure frequencies up to HALF the 8051's instruction cycle (for a oscillator clock of 12MHZ, 1MHz instruction cycle) due the fact that if a transition occurs between instruction cycles the CPU wouldn't account for it. So this must be taken in account in oren's counter. orlando |
