I needed some information on Port 0 so while checking the froum posts i found one by steve, which went as below,

(I was trying to figure out how to select the exact resistor value required to use port 0 as an output port. i landed up with the result 4.7kohm for the AT89c51, but i found 1 kohm to work equally well. )

Anyways this link doesn't have data on port 0 as such. except that it could be used for memory transfer....

(The value of the pullup will vary according to the device used right??)

Besides some posts indicated that the devices (although having internal pull up) behave like the standard port 0. Now what is the standard port 0?? I think that was the question steve was trying to solve, but like i said the link is not very helpful... and even a search for 8051 and port 0 on the philips site didn't direct me to the above pdf. (I admit i am a very bad searcher!!)

Any suggestions???
