#50110 - Connecting more than 100 devices... |
Dear All,
I am starting to work on a project which specifies, I have to design a custom terminal (with just a graphics LCD screen and a numeric keypad) and roughly about 300-500 such terminals are to be connected to a computer (say a server). I am trying to figure how best I can do it. the existing communication standards like RS-232,422,485 etc do not support so many devices for sure. Then, is a protocol like TCP/IP the only alternative? and if yes, then where do I look for 8051-derivative chips that suppot tcp/ip etc? ANy light on the idea? Regards, Harsha. |
