today you can get 1/2, 1/4 and, I believe 1/8 unit load transcievers. with 1/4 UL transcievers you can connect (32*4) 128 devices on a single pair.
I once designed a system with 48 ports driven by 3 ports. The communication worked like a charm. How many masters per slave is a "network load" calculation, with up to 128 devices on a "network" the total bitrate will be the limiter, not the UL. Erik |
