I totally appreciate your comments and reply Kai. You have VERY VERY nicely summed up exactly the reasons I keep coming back to this forum......this place.....which I almost can see as a community.

Interestingly what comes with any community are a varied mix of personalities with a huge range of interests (and intents) !! And the other thing I find amazing is how true it is that IF there are problems here it is almost always one of communication. I can say many many good things about your willingness and capabilities when it comes to communications!!

By the way, that post on another branch of this thread with the picture, made by me, is an attempt at subtle sarcasm and is in no way intended to push the opinion of whether the opto-coupling in the circuits being discussed here has merit or not. It is instead a reflection of what I see going on in the community here. The orignal poster is looking for a ready made answer to a complex problem and all your work and that of the others that have tried to help as led to a bit of "isolation". I hope that my weekend "cartoons" have not in any way created anything of hard feelings but instead help us all to laugh a bit.
