#50973 - RE: Which uC Supervisory IC is better? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Wouldn't ALE be always pulsing even if CPU gets into an endless loop?
I usually use a port pin for STROBE to WDT and complement it in various parts of the software. Which approach is better? ALE or a complemented port pin? Any suggestions/experiences? Using ALE 'converts' the 1232 from a "supervisor and watchdog" to a "supervisor". If you do not need an external watchdog, it is a waste to use the 1232, use a milkpail (TO-92) supervisor, they are much cheaper. Erik |
