as I said... I couldn't find any info about your specific controller, so I can't sugest a start-up sequence for it.

BUT, when you turn on the remote control, the throttle is in the idle position, isn't it? Try sending some idle pulses before accelerate the motor. at the maxx page there are some info about other models... or you can mail them asking about your controller.

to simulate some startup sequence with your controller you should first discover the pulse width corresponding to each action (idle, forward, braking (or reverse)), them send these pulses with the controller.

but why are you using a controller? driving a servo or a motor directly is easier, IMHO.
