#5520 - LCD Backlight
I would like to try and light up the back light on my LCD. Having black on dark green without the light is very hard to read. I never could find any circuits to do the job. Maybe someone here can stear me to a schematic or email one to me. Secondly, I hate to think about putting high voltage AC on my device for back lighting the LCD. Wonder why they left the contacts exposed on the LCD module if high voltage AC is applied to these contacts? Or did I miss something reading about back lighting LCD's? I now only use a 12vdc input source converted to 5vdc by a regulator in my box, I sure hope you don't need to also bring in 110VAC, I might just forget about the LCD backlight and just issue a flash light attached to each box. He he he. Your help or advice is always appreciated.

I'm not an expert on LCD's but have noticed many errors in articles posted on the internet and would gladly share what I have with those having problems working with LCD's using the several development boards available on these micros. With a little extra hardware I was able to use the faster P1 port (time shared for other work) in full byte mode rather than attaching the LCD to the available external I/O ports.
