#57924 - Down to Layman's Terms... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Well,
since I have never written any code for the RS485, I am honestly ignorant of any other technique that is used to perform serial communication using 485. I have used RS232 pretty well and never faced any problem. But one of the previous posts says that two RS485 transceivers between two RS232 transceievers is a 485 communication, and the software is exactly as it would be for 232. So, I assume my software will work as perfectly for 485, and this is how (roughly) i used my software. 1. Check if TX bit is CLEARED 2. Put databyte into SBUF 3. WAIT until TX bit is SET 4. CLEAR TX bit 5. Refresh databyte with the next byte to be sent 6. Goto step 2. ofcourse it is not the complete sequence (as it is in infinite loop) but the skeliton of the sequence. Now, do you mean to say that after step 3, i have to wait (say with an NOP instruction) before proceeding to step 4? Please clarify. Regards, Harsha |
