But if you try to make your 5 wire (T+ T- R+ R- GND) full duplex multi point you do indeed need to dea with the hassle of disabling the drivers out of any slave.

Full duplex does not remove the 1/2 stop bit early interrupt problem at all. That is always there on a conventional 51/52 type UART.

It is the multi-dropping type of configuration wherein the driver enable/disable issue comes up and that is irrespective of 2-wire versus 4-wire differential data paths.
