Thanks for link to ST web site Erik. I had not thought to go there.....unfortunately they do not seem to offer what I need. Their '080 parts (8 megabit: 1MBytex8) 3V parts in TSOP-40 are 90 and 120 nsec....argh. They have a 2Mx8 that would be a possibility but it is only a 70 nsec part - still not close to 55 nsec.
