Looks like your programs "day-to-day" business is controlling the stepper motors, only interrupted by a "pulse" received when your laser beam reflects off the mirror. The clue is hidden in the word "interrupted". If fast enough, you can do your target "acquisition" using what is commonly called an ISR (Interrupt Service Routine)... check the bible and the internet for more details. BTW: more experienced people have probably a far better explanation and "way of doing things". It's just my initial thought upon lecture of your post. regards Patrick "newbie" De Groote |
