OK, know nothing about '51BASIC. In my opinion BASIC was good when it was basic, but after all kinds if 'improvements' got wrestled in it lost its lustre. It seems the BASIC producers are trying to make BASIC handle what such a language (overhead etc) has no business handling.

Language selection should be done with the same concern as chip selection: use what is right, not what you happen to prefer.
