32-bit processor? he was asking about an 8051!

In fact, I think the original Apple LaserWriter used an AMD 29k - a 32-bit RISC processor!

So I'm with Michael on this - although it is doable with a 32-bit processor, why bother?
PCs these days have more than enough processor power to do all this & more on the PC's own processor - there is no point in adding a dongle!

In fact, the cheaper laser printers these days don't do any of the rendering themselves - they rely upon the PC doing it in software!
