You have 2X8 led's and 1*8 relays. That's a total of 3*8 outputs. You could consider using a latch for all your outputs. That way you'd use a single 8bit port for loading the latches, and 2 pins for addressing the latch and another one for actually latching the data. That's 11 pins for your outputs 7 pins for your LCD.(I fail to see why your Backlight pin should be connected to your 8051..) 14 pins for adc 2 pins for serial communication 3 digital inputs grand total: 37 pins. I think you could even do with less, if you try and do some clever combination of various signals: LCD enable pin could be combined with e.g. latch-enable for your output latches... Other combinations are likely possible, thus saving even more pins. regards Patrick |
