#64673 - RE: Memory IO issue Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hallo Oleg,
if the application does not suffer from 'transparency', then why not use HC573. But the main issue of your recommendation is to use the rising edge of /WR for latching, right? Well, I would also use this edge, because this is the methode normally to be used with this /WR signal. But why not using falling edge, if Raghunathan has his reasons to do this? By the way, the very best methode would be to avoid the latching 'far away' from microcontroller. I would latch the data as close as possible to micro. The FRC (flat ribbon cable) then would only transmit quasi static signals to LED board. At LED board there could be another transparent HC573, with its enable input (C) hold high. This HC573 would only serve as LED buffer, not needing to perform any latching. Sometimes I use HC377 for latching. This device allows one to gate the latch enable signal, which can be a very helpful. Bye, Kai |
