#68472 - non-standard baud rate |
I am working with a legacy 8051 system that communicates at 93,750 baud (which is the 6 MHz crystal frequency / 64). I need to interface this 8051 system to a PC, on which I will write a custom application. But, I don't know if/how to get the PC's COM port to work at this non-standard baud rate, in a full-duplex mode.
I hesitate to ask this question here, because it's more a matter of dealing with my (Windows) PC. But, I imagine that the experts here have dealt with this kind of 8051 interfacing problem and might suggest a workaround. Any advice would be appreciated. Note: I cannot change the hardware or software in this legacy 8051 system (i.e., crystal frequency and timer reload values must remain unchanged). Carroll |
