#68723 - RE: GAL Programming Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I am afraid i have to disagree Peter,GALs are very useful in siutuations where you only need some glue logic and a cpld is overkill. As far the coolrunner cpld it is nice but not very useful in a 8052 type design because of the logic level translation needed,it was orignaly a Philips device and did exist in 5 volts versions but was bought by xilinx who then dropped the 5 volt version in favour of low voltage and very low voltage devices thereby ruining a perfectly good product line for anyone wanting a plug in solution for standard logic designs. |
