#69027 - Hall effect sensors Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Prahlad,
The method as has been suggested to use the bus bars as primary and then use a secondary of few turns over that to get the current information is very common in welding sets. But in all cases where I have seen this being used, the actual conversion is with a Hall effect sensor. The sensor is placed in a gap in a circular frame through which passes the conductor with high current. Nowadays you get these Hall effect sensors as discrete chips from RS components and the like. Maybe you can buy one such and make your sensor. ( It is possible that someone has already suggested this. Saw this thread after some 32 postings have been made and did not read ALL of them !) Raghu |
