No matter how disposed you are in specific regarding issues that, after all is said and done are more "political" than simply "religious", i can't imagine railing against admonitions to:

"to struggle against injustice,
to struggle against arrogance and
to struggle against corruption".

Now at 50 years of age, the ID thing seems a bit complicated. When i was young, few Americans would have accepted needing "Papers" establishing who and what you "represent" if not operating a car, crossing a national boundary, or applying for work. We parodied the "I needs to see you papers" as a clear sign of a Totalitarian state.

The Biometric format, Jez started this thread with raises the issue to a new level, complicated by reciprocal "counter-measures" similar to the counter-measures in place for "paper" based technology.
