#71283 - RE: old IAR c compiler Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The IAR compiler (at least my version) defaults to a .a03 output file which *is* a standard Intel hex file. I have never had any problems loading this output file into a prom burner or whatever. In using Flip with Atmel's latest ISP chips, I find that while it's looking for a .hex if I set the browser to look for *.* and select my .a03 it will load without problems.
Yes, when the project is configured one of those options is output, among those is Intel standard or extended. Keil has similar options; I would expect even the old IAR to have the same. Better too many options than not having the one you need. I am confused about your exact problem now...you can compile the code with IAR's new compiler...but you don't like it because you need to rename the output? In the IAR project configuration you can override the default output name and call it .hex or .xyz or whatever. Is your IAR compiler also an eval version? Dennis |
