Do you have the original project files as well as the C source? Also the linker .xcl file? Either of these could have settings that affect the functionality of the resulting code. Often something as simple as the optimization settings will do it...for instance, maybe a critical piece of code has been optimized away.

I have some older code that will not work with optimization turned on, I have to remember to turn it OFF.

Do you have anything with which to do any debugging? O'scope?
