Note that Erik is using the term "native" here in the sense that these compilers have been specifically designed from the ground up for 8051 targets.
He is not saying that the Keil & Raisonance Compilers actually run on the 8051 - which would be the conventional meaning of the term "Native Compiler" Andy, You are right, that is the usual meaning of the word. I just could not think of a better one. What would be a better word than 'native' please note I have used quotes around native. I thought of '51 specific, but that is true of all. Dedicated, same and "using call tree allocated local storage" is kind if clumsy. Erik |
