Ah, now I guess what you mean, Gary: You have a design, where this fourth thermocouple connection is needed to fabricate cold-junction compensation, like it can be seen in datasheet of AD524?
Well, AD595, this special monolithic thermocouple amplifier does already contain the cold junction compensation and does not need an additional thermocouple connection. Stability versus temperature is better than +-0.05K/K for the low cost version! Kai |
