So now we have to argue about just what is "reasonable priced" ;o)

Aforementioned SiLabs kits allow you to single-step through the code, view and alter memory contents, SFR's and peripherals. I can hardly think of a better way to learn the 'ins and outs' of a microcontroller!
And where price is concerned, methinks that an educational facility should be able to come to some arrangement with SiLabs (or any other manufacturer, for that matter).
