I actually replaced a few hundred almost brand new IBM system boards in the last year due to premature failure of electrolytic caps, the caps swelled up and leaked electrolyte.

The new boards came with better caps but even these have started to fail in the same way.

So much for quality, hte name of the game these days is how to make a computer as cheap as possible and last just over the warranty period (sickening).
