Also can anyone tell me of a fast and easy pcb protoyping technique like press-n peel available in India.
Press-n-Peel, UV sensitive etc. etc. I tried to do things with all these options in my early days but these stuffs are not easily available in mumbai. But there is a simple way to make single sided prototypes. Here it is.... 1. Prepare the Artwork using some good PCB design software I use Eagle. 2. From the layers option select Bottom, Pads & Dimension [ Select only required layers ]. Hide all other layers. 3. Take Printout on a Tracing [ Butter ] Paper using darkest ink intensity better use a laser printer. Keep scale factor 1. 4. Buy a Single sided copper clad board to suit your board dimensions. 5. Approach a screen printing person [ those who print these wedding cards /visiting cards etc. ] Tell him to screen print the pattern on tracing paper onto the copper clad board. Tell him to use blue chromatin paper for better results. Screen printing will cost Aprox. 60-70Rs. 6. Let the printed board dry and etch it with suitable etchant such as FeCl3. 7. Drill the holes using suitable drill bits and hand drill machine. 8. If intrested do the tinning using suitbale chemical. There was an excellent thread started a couple of weeks ago by Abishek singh on tinning and etching search the forum for it. If you want a moderate volume of Single sided or PTH PCB's then you can send PS [ Post Script ] files of PCB layers to film maker you can get films done for approx. 25Paise/cm2 per film. Send these films to PCB maker PCB will cost approx. 30paise/cm2 for Single sided and 75 paise/cm2 for PTH. For higher volumes or multilayer PCB's you can go for CNC machine otpion for getting PCB's done. Regards, Prahlad Purohit |
