It's not that this particular interpretation of "AC" is not popular; it's that absolutely no context whatsoever was given - so "AC plant" could equally have meant "Alternating Current [generation] plant" or "Automobile Construction plant" or "Automated Cryogenic plant" etc, etc, etc...

The golden rule is to always explain every abbreviation the first time you use it - especially when it's your first post in a new forum
